What is InterSEK?

InterSEK is a core part of our Institution, a program that has become a true tradition and is organized every year.

In 2019 between the 3rd and 13th of May, our institution delegated 10 students and 2 teachers to participate in the Sport Intersek arranged this year in Quito, Ecuador.
It was a lengthy and tiresome trip to Quito from Budapest, but it was worth every minute of the journey! After two days of resting and getting accustomed to the new surroundings, the students jumped into the five-day-long series of various sport events and competitions with renewed strength and stamina.

On Monday the program started with the Opening Ceremony, during which every delegation paraded with their national flag, and traditional costume. After the ceremony the sport programs started. During the days the girls participated in volleyball, the boys took part in the volleyball, football and basketball matches. Some students even volunteered to challenge themselves in solo sport forms, such as swimming, table tennis and cross country running. Everybody performed very well and positively exceeded what could be expected from them! We were especially proud to see the boys win the basketball tournament without losing a single match! They were so motivated and hardworking, we are very proud of them. We would like to thank SEK Los Valles for lending us some of their students to complete our teams in each sport.
Apart from the colourful and varied school programs, we built a stand which portrayed our country, and visited the old city as well, among many other memorable moments.
More than sports, this trip was a life time experience, where we found many new friends, and learned many new things. Our students had the chance to spend the week in the company of welcoming families, who ensured that they will treasure this exciting week as a very dear memory.

The main goal of the InterSEK is to enrich our students` physical and social development as well as strengthen cultural bonds and friendship, an valuable lesson that works together with everything they learn inside school to create well rounded citizens of the world out of our students. This InterSEK is an unforgettable and vital experience that all participants will take through all their lives.
